Foster Home Program
The APS handles nearly
7,000 animals annually at the shelter.
The goal of the APS foster home program is to allow animals more time to
find permanent homes while providing them an opportunity for
socialization and training, both of which greatly increase their
adoptability.
APS strives to save as many animals as reasonably possible. However, it
is important to note that the foster home program is not intended to
warehouse animals, or to provide an opportunity for a trial adoption
period.
As a foster home volunteer, you will be providing an essential service
to animals in need, and you will also have a direct effect on the number
of animals who are given another chance to find a loving forever home.
If you are interested in fostering please contact the Volunteer
Coordinator at (919) 560-0640 or
volunteer@apsofdurham.org.
