Happy Endings - Rajah (adopted March 19, 2008)

Rajah stole my heart the moment I saw him as he reminded me of a cat I used to have. I attended your open house back in February and met Rajah and a few other cats and left there so confused as to which cat I would like to consider adopting. I wanted them all! I knew I didn't want a kitten this time around and I knew that I wanted a short-haired cat. I thought that perhaps a cat between 3-6 would be good. For several weeks I pondered over several of the cats I met that day but Rajah just kept coming to mind. On March 16, Rajah was the pet of the week and the next day I checked your website and saw that he now had his own web video on Youtube. I played that video over and over and over and knew that I needed to adopt him, especially since the lyrics in the video said "can't get you out of my mind". So that day at lunch I stopped in to meet again with Rajah and decided that he just had to be mine.
After quickly getting used to his new home, he has taken it over. Totally. He loves to play and he loves to nap behind my head on top of my chair at night while I watch TV. His favorite playtime involves chasing after his toy mouse and also playing laser light chase with me. He squeaks his meows and when I pick him up to hug him he purrs and purrs. He really has a sweet disposition and I thank all of the folks at the shelter and all the volunteers that worked with him while he was there to help socialize him well. His new vet was impressed with his health, though she did say that my 14 pound 14 ounce boy needed to lose some weight. She also bumped his presumed age of 2 up to 4 and we had a good laugh about how he aged 2 years while at his first vet appointment! I really appreciate all the encouragement I received while considering the adoption and appreciate how smoothly the process was. Thanks so much for my new buddy. Here is a recent picture of Rajah the Mighty.
