Happy Endings - Arthur (Adopted November 19,2003)

Arthur stole my heart from the moment we touched noses in the visiting room. Although he shed like crazy (the room had to be closed after for
cleaning) and that continues to be one of his main talents! A quirky and very skittish dog, Arthur is also sweet and mellow, preferring a calm environment with no sudden movements or even items out of place.
Outdoors, the beagle / English foxhound mix (every vet's best guess on his breed) lets his nose lead the way and he romps along ears flapping.
WORKING DOG. After moving to my home state of New Jersey in 2004, I got a job at an Ad Agency with an in-house dog. Thinking the socialization would do him good, I started to bring Arthur to work one day a week.
Now he is here every day and I get grief from my co-workers if he ever stays home. We have had up to 7 dogs in the office at one time, most enjoy playing in the halls with tennis balls or toys, but Arthur is content to sit in his own chair by the window or on the floor behind my desk and keep an eye on me. He is always up for ear rubs by visitors and has summoned the courage to steal rawhides from the other dogs. At a company party he was even awarded the "Benjicujolassie Award" for Favorite Office Dog!
FAMILY MAN. For the first couple years, Arthur was the main man in my life. In 2005 when I was picked up for a date, Arthur barked at him from behind the bushes, but later sat between us on the couch and expressed his approval by resting his head on my date's knee. Quickly, it was clear that we were all going to get along just fine. We got married last year and the 3 of us are happiest when we're together.
Thank you Animal Protection Society for giving Arthur a chance for a new life and bringing such happiness to our home! - Bonnie & Brandon
